Flood Prevention

The contract related to the preparation of the studies at a:

Pre-study stage:

a) the management of the area’s flumes;

b) the sewerage network for storm water in Aspropirgos.

Definitive study stage:

a) the secondary sewerage network for wastewater in Aspropirgos;

b) the sewerage network for storm water in Aspropirgos;

c) the management of the area’s flumes.

The study’s subject matter was:

a) The study of the supplementary projects for managing the bed of the Acheloos River below the weir of the Spolaita irrigation dam up to the outfall, totalling approximately 40 km in length. This study will be prepared at a preliminary study stage.

b) The study at a pre-study stage of the projects required for tendering the management of the bed of the river’s first segment, i.e. from the weir of the Spolaita dam to the outlet channel of the Stratos I Hydroelectric Station, totalling approximately 7 km in length.

The study’s subject matter was: Preparing a definitive study for managing the Pirnakas torrent from Tripotamos to the sea. Review of the already existing definitive study for managing the torrent.

The study’s subject matter was:

a) The review of the existing hydrology studies of the runoff basin of the Pirnakas torrent and the Pamisos River . The study was carried out in two stages: the preliminary study and the pre-study.

b) The preliminary study related to the management and flood prevention projects on the Pamisos River and on the Pirnakas torrent at the part below the Valira straits of the Pirnakas torrent and on the Pamisos River up to the location of the Arios Town dam.

c) The pre-study related to the management and flood prevention projects in the part of the Pirnakas torrent below the convergence of the Despotis torrent with the Tsakonas torrent up to the Valira straits.

The projects studied are:

a) The management of the Soures torrent from the convergence of the diversion into the Sarantapotamos torrent to the convergence of the diversion of the Agia Ekaterini flume, totalling approximately 3,900 m in length;

b) the diversion of the Agia Ekaterini flume from its entrance at the extension of the Mandra urban area to its convergence with the Soures torrent, totalling approximately 1,500 m in length;

c) the extension of the pipe of the Koropouli flume by750 m;

d) the management of the Agios Ioannis torrent for a segment totalling 6,270m in length, i.e. from the area below the Elefsina-Spata freeway to its outfall, through a diversion (approximately 1,500m in length) to the Sarantapotamos torrent;

e) the management of two secondary branches, D (approximately 600 m in length) and E (approximately 850 m in length).

The study’s subject matter was the management of the Vourvas torrent in Lakonia and the construction of a bridge over the Tarapsi-Monemvasia National Road . The study aimed to increase the flow capacity of the torrent’s lowland bed and to ensure communication.
This study related to the design of the works required in order to manage the torrents of Arginio-Katourlis-Likorachitis-Agios Konstantinos in the Etoloakarnania area, as well as their side-torrents. The study aimed to protect the irrigation and drainage network of the Lower Acheloos plains in the areas of Agrinio and Agios Konstantinos and the new settlements being established for settlers from the construction of the Acheloos hydroelectric projects.
